The Breast Health Center at the Connection for Women at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center has just one goal: to help you fight breast cancer. When you come to our center, high-quality care from a team dedicated to providing exceptional breast health services.
At our Breast Health Center, we offer routine breast cancer screenings with state-of-the-art, 3D digital mammography machines. Those tools could be vital for you, should your screening mammogram highlight a breast health concern. We can use that equipment to perform follow-up testing to pinpoint where your cancer is and how it might best be treated.
In addition to mammography, we can also offer breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and biopsy.
If your screening mammogram doesn't show an area of concern but you'd still like to know more about breast cancer, we can use an assessment program to help you understand your risk.
We know a breast cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming and stressful. That's why a team of specialists will be by your side from the start. We call it our multidisciplinary clinic breast care program. It works like this:
If you're diagnosed with breast cancer, you'll meet with specialists—including a surgeon, radiation oncologist, and medical oncologist—all at one time. Together you'll discuss your treatment options, and you'll be able to ask lots of questions.
After meeting with the team, you'll have a plan for moving forward. This can help you feel less anxious about your diagnosis—and more in control of your health. You can also feel more confident that our specialists have explored all your options together—and that you're getting the care you deserve.
Women with breast cancer are treated at the state-of-the-art Richard E. Winter Cancer Center. The care comes from a highly skilled breast care team that includes surgeons and experts in oncology.
