Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Nurses Earn Trauma Certification

Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center is proud to announce that five of its registered nurses recently completed the Emergency Nurses Association’s (ENA) Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC). The nurses that achieved this status are Erica Fishel, Jolene LaSiege, Shayna Dychtiar, Steve Karlberg, and Wendy Dow. The TNCC status, which is valid for four years, was achieved by attending a vigorous two-day course that included didactics and lots of hands-on skill performance in the care of the trauma patient. According to the ENA, after completing the course, nurses can systematically asses the trauma patient, to intervene and assist with interventions, and to provide evidence-based trauma nursing care within the context of a trauma team. Shown in the photo are top Fishel, LaSiege, and Dychtiar. In the bottom row are Karlberg and Dow. Your tomorrow is worth defending.
