Diabetes Support Group to Meet at Claxton-Hepburn

Managing diabetes is challenging. Monitoring glucose levels, maintaining a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and balancing medications are challenges most people with diabetes deal with every day. Diabetes can be overwhelming. It is tough to change lifelong habits, and often, the benefits are far in the future. For many people, meeting with other people who are experiencing the same challenges is a positive and effective way to discuss diabetes issues. Some strategies can help.

On Thursday, February 20, at 4:00 p.m., in the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center’s Lions Diabetes conference room, located on the second floor of the Medical Center, Shannon VanHouse, RN, Certified Diabetes Educator, will be facilitating a Diabetes Support Group. An open forum for diabetes-related discussion will be held. This is a free support group, and family and friends are welcome.

If you are interested in forming a network with other people struggling with diabetes, consider attending this meeting. If you have any questions, Mrs. VanHouse can be contacted at 315-713-5116.
