Cancer screenings

When it comes to cancer, we know that early detection is key. That's why the team at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center works so hard to deliver free or low-cost cancer screenings. With these tools, we can find cancers sooner, when they're easier to treat.

We offer cancer screening tests for:

  • Breast cancer. We provide free breast cancer screenings, which include a clinical breast exam by one of our providers as well as a 3D mammogram, to eligible women through a partnership with the St. Lawrence Cancer Services Program.
  • Colorectal cancer. We provide free colorectal cancer screenings to uninsured individuals who meet screening criteria, through a generous grant from the St. Lawrence County Cancer Fund and the generosity of our physicians Christopher Brandy, MD, and Myriam Beniamin, MD.
  • Lung cancer. We provide free lung cancer screenings to uninsured individuals and $99 lung cancer screenings to all others who meet the screening criteria, through a generous grant from the St. Lawrence County Cancer Fund and our physician Ali Gharagozloo, MD.
  • Skin cancer. We provide a free, countywide skin cancer screening annually through our six area health centers. There are no eligibility requirements for this screening.

We're proud to offer these programs to our community. Our low-cost screening program is just one of the ways we defend your tomorrow.
