Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center to Celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day

Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center to Celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day

On Sunday, June 2, Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center’s Richard E. Winter Cancer Center hosted its 21st annual Rainbow of Hope celebration to commemorate National Cancer Survivors Day. The ceremony, held at the Golden Dome in Ogdensburg, and hosted by the Cancer Center staff, paid tribute to many cancer survivors and their families and gave remembrance to those that lost their lives to cancer. Kay Zimmer, director of the Richard E. Winter Cancer Center, stated, “Our Rainbow of Hope celebration is an event filled with joy, hope, camaraderie and compassion as we acknowledge our community’s cancer survivors, and recognize the contributions of their families, friends, and healthcare providers.” Guest speakers included Mayor Wayne Ashley, Assemblyman Mark Walczyk, and patient representative Donna Fitchette.
