Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Welcome New Provider

Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center is pleased to welcome Colin Bryant, MD, anesthesiologist, to our medical staff as Chief of Anesthesiology, and interim Chief Medical Officer. In Dr. Bryant’s role as Chief Medical Officer, he will have oversight of discharge planning, the medical staff office, and partner with physician recruitment, Quality/Risk Management/Corporate Compliance and practice management. Dr. Bryant will report directly to the Medical Center’s Chief Operating Officer, Chuck Gijanto.

Mr. Gijanto welcomed Dr. Bryant to Claxton-Hepburn by stating, “ We are very pleased to have someone of Dr. Bryant’s caliber joining our surgical program. We are very much looking forward to his leadership as Chief Medical Officer. His energy and enthusiasm are infectious, and I know he will be a great fit for our organization and patients.”

Dr. Bryant earned his bachelors of science in biology at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, MA. He received his doctorate of medicine at Medical College of Ohio, Toledo, OH, where he also completed an internal medicine internship. He completed anesthesia residency programs at Emory University Hospitals, Atlanta, GA, and Albert Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Bryant most recently joins us from Millcreek Community Hospital, Erie, PA, where he worked as a locum tenens anesthesiologist. Dr. Bryant has extensive experience in anesthesiology and has served as chief anesthesiologist and acting director throughout his career. He also has experience in pain management procedures.

Dr. Bryant stated, “ I am excited to be part of the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center team. I have worked in many institutions, and find this nursing staff to be among the most dedicated to patient care, and supportive to physicians. This hospital has great potential for growth. I look forward to doing my part to advance our mission of enhancing health and life with compassion and excellence”.
