Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Recognizes Emergency Department Nurses

Hospital news | Monday, November 5, 2018

Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center is celebrating our emergency department nurses during Emergency Nurses Week, October 7-13. Emergency Department (ED) nurses treat patients for a variety of reasons – trauma, injury, and acute-onset symptoms. They treat patients of all ages and backgrounds. ED nurses learn to quickly triage patients based on immediate observation and acute assessment skills. According to nurse.org’s Brittany Hamstra, BSN, RN, “The job is fast-paced and completely unpredictable shift-to-shift.” Shown in the photo are Claxton-Hepburn ED staff Christina Smith, Alana Ashley, Zachary Shantie, Kim Gillman, Bridget Koban, and Jason Moore. Your tomorrow is worth defending.
