Does frequent poor health bring you down? Whatever health issue you are facing, it’s time to take charge and enjoy a better quality of life. “I Can Feel Better” is a free six-week chronic disease management workshop being offered by Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in conference room C. The first class starts on Wednesday, February 7. Classes will run from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Call 315-713-5251 for more information and to register.
The “I Can Feel Better” program, taught by trained facilitators Karen Cole, Shannon Van House, and Michele Catlin, will help you to take control of your health. The program brings together people with chronic diseases, family members, and caregivers in a community setting to learn healthier ways to live, gain confidence, motivation to manage their health, and feel more positive about life.
During the highly interactive workshops, you will learn how to set goals, deal with fatigue, frustration, and isolation, handle stress, learn to relax, control your pain, learn about healthy eating and exercise, learn how to talk to your doctor and also make choices about your treatment, and many more topics. This program is for any adult living with a chronic health condition or their family member. The free workshop is not disease-specific, but it is designed to support and enhance disease-specific education.
What are you waiting for? Call us at (315) 713-5251 to register. Your tomorrow is worth defending.
