We recognize that to our patients, no surgery is ever “routine.” Our interdisciplinary team is dedicated to providing comprehensive surgical services with compassion for our patients and their families in a comfortable community hospital atmosphere. Surgeries are offered in both an inpatient and outpatient setting.
Ambulatory (Outpatient) Surgery
Improved technology, surgical techniques and advances in pain management have enabled Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center to perform more tests, procedures and surgeries on an outpatient basis, which means you will be in and out of the hospital within 24 hours.
We are dedicated to providing outpatient surgery in a warm, caring environment. Claxton-Hepburn surgeons perform approximately 7,300 surgeries annually, including endoscopy procedures. Some of the procedures we offer are:

The Ambulatory Surgery Unit includes six pre- and post-operative bays for patients having outpatient procedures, two operating rooms, a comfortable waiting area, and a patient-physician consultation room.
