Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Provides Diabetes Family Group
Do you have a child who has been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes? On Saturday, February 11, at 1:00 p.m., at the Kid’s Place, next to the Frederic Remington Museum, there will be a meet and greet meeting of the Diabetes Family Group, sponsored by Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center and the Ogdensburg school nurses.
When a child is diagnosed with diabetes, the entire family is affected. Whether you are the parent, sibling or other family member your support can make a significant difference. After the shock of the diagnosis subsides, your family will be adapting to life with diabetes. Day to day activities, can be normal but will now take planning and preparation.
You’re not alone. Sharing your concerns, struggles and achievements with others can be rewarding and helpful. If you are interested in meeting with other families who are living with diabetes, join us at this open meeting for families with children with diabetes.
There is no charge to attend this meeting; activities will be available for the children. Contact School Nurse Ellen Seidman at 393-3232 if you are planning to attend or would like more information.
